3 Example Technology Roadmaps | ProductPlan

What is a technology roadmap?

A technology roadmap is a high-level, visual plan that communicates an organization’s technology strategy. It’s also known as an IT roadmap, technology roadmaps help internal teams make strategic decisions around their technical infrastructure. There are several kinds of technology roadmaps:

  • Internal IT roadmap
  • DevOps roadmap
  • Infrastructure roadmap
  • Architecture Roadmap
  • Software Roadmap
  • Internal Systems Roadmap

Roadmaps are not just for product managers. Many teams can benefit from a strategic roadmap guiding their work. This includes IT teams using a technology roadmap. How Changing Technology Affects Security

Security is a tradeoff, a balancing act between attacker and defender. Unfortunately, that balance is never static. Changes in technology affect both sides. Society uses new technologies to decrease what I call the scope of defection — what attackers can get away with — and attackers use new technologies to increase it. What’s interesting is the difference between how the two groups incorporate new technologies.

Changes in security systems can be slow. Society has to implement any new security technology as a group, which implies agreement and coordination and — in some instances — a lengthy bureaucratic procurement process. Meanwhile, an attacker can just use the new technology. For example, at the end of the horse-and-buggy era, it was easier for a bank robber to use his new motorcar as a getaway vehicle than it was for a town’s police department to decide it needed a police car, get the

How Technology Has Taken Over Our Lives

We have all heard it, how technology has taken over the world and left us as zombies. We are shells of who we may have been, because instead of looking around and experiencing life we are dependent upon a lit up screen. We have all heard this, but what does this dependency really mean for our future?

We are lacking socialization; instead of talking to and spending time with other people, we are getting all our information from the Internet. The Internet is an amazing resource, but there are some things it cannot teach or give you. It cannot teach you the value of spending time with friends and family, or how to live life to the fullest by being present in the current moment. You never know just how many opportunities and experiences pass you by because you are looking down at your screen. When you are 90, you

Welcome – UC Postharvest Technology Center

The Center was founded in 1978 by Adel Kader with the goal of organizing and coordinating knowledge transfer regarding reduction of postharvest losses and improving the quality and marketability of fresh horticultural products. The research findings disseminated during this era by Kader and a cadre of colleagues is the cornerstone and foundation for our current year-round supply and global sourcing of quality fresh and minimally-processed produce and cut flowers.

Our mission today is to remain a leading source of information on quality, safety and marketability of fresh produce and to sustain the viability of the Center for the next generation of scientists and practitioners. Our immediate goal is to broaden the level of involvement among our basic, applied and extension faculty and use the PTC platform to distill, translate, and disseminate emerging technology advancements to a broader industry and affiliated stakeholder audience.
